What are The Purist candles made from?
We use 100% pure and natural soy wax. Soy wax is a non-toxic, food-grade wax, and is a natural alternative to other candle waxes. It contains NO nasties – no GMO, no Paraffin, no Additives. The Purist’s candles are made from vegan friendly and Kosher certified soy wax, and non-allergenic.
Our wicks are cotton, and contain absolutely no lead.
We also use 100% pure essential oils in our candles, and our fragrances are formulated on aromatherapy principles.

What makes The Purist’s candles different?
All of the components of our candles are sourced in Australia, and of the highest quality. Most of the components are also derived from nature.
Each and every candle is handmade and hand-poured right here in Western Australia.
The candles are blended with aromatherapy principles in mind, using essential and non-essential oils, with beautiful scents inspired by nature’s miracles – including plants, flowers, spices and herbs. They each cure for at least seven days, allowing the scents to really develop so that when you pop that lid, they can wash right over you.
Our products are pure, luxurious and blended to perfection.
My lit candle’s wax pool looks quite oily – why is this?
The pure essential oils within the candles can sometimes create quite an oily wax pool whilst your candle is lit. This is definitely not something to worry about, and it will not affect the quality of your candle. Just relax and let the benefits of those oils get to work on your mind, body and soul!
How strong are the fragrances?
The strength, or scent-throw, of your The Purist candle will depend on its size, and the size of the area in which it’s burning. Generally: the larger the candle, the stronger the fragrance. The smaller candles should fill a small to medium sized room, and supply a subtle hint of deliciousness to a larger living area.
It’s very important to us that our candles fill your room with their gorgeous fragrances, but we would hate to compromise the properties of the natural ingredients and our passion for purity for a strong, unnatural fragrance. If you aren’t happy with your candle, though, please let us know!
How should I care for my The Purist candle?
To keep your The Purist candle at its prime for a super-long time, please make sure that you read the warning label on the bottom of your candle before burning.
Make sure that you only burn your candle on a flat, fire-resistant surface and make sure nothing is hanging overhead.
Trim your wick to a 1/4 inch (or about 6.5mm) before you burn it each time, and also if you’ve been burning it for more than two hours. If the wick grows too long, it will start to emit carbon resulting in a black residue around the edge of the glass. If this happens, you can clean the residue off with a damp cloth or paper towel (but not while the candle is lit, silly!).
Make sure that both wicks are lit while burning one of our larger candles to ensure an even burn and distribution of wax.
Due to the wax we use being 100% pure and natural, and containing no additives, a white coating can appear from time to time. This is the soy wax trying to re-crystalise, and return to its normal state. It can especially happen with changes in temperature. This is quite normal, nothing to be alarmed about, and it will most definitely not affect the fragrance or quality of the candle.
How long will my The Purist candle last?
Our tin candles (48g) have an approximate maximum burn time of 23 hours.
Our small candles (55g) have an approximate maximum burn time of 18 hours.
Our medium candles (165g) have an approximate maximum burn time of 33 hours.
Our large candles (300g) have an approximate maximum burn time of 48 hours.

What does ‘Pre-Order’ mean?
Some of our candles are made to order, specifically for you (you’ll see the words ‘Pre-Order’ in the product description if this is the case). This means that there could be a bit of a wait before your candle arrives in your hot little hands, but we can guarantee that it will be so worth it! We will let you know an estimated delivery date once you place your order.
